CALL FOR PROPOSALS

 

Workshop and Plenary Proposals  12th World Congress on Pain

Glasgow, Scotland, August 17-22, 2008


 

WORKSHOP PROPOSALS:  IASP members and others wishing to organize workshops for IASP’s 2008 12th World Congress on Pain in Glasgow, Scotland, are encouraged to start planning them and to send basic information to the chair of the Scientific Program Committee (see address below)

 

Workshops are 1.5 hours long and include a maximum of three speakers (e.g., organizer plus two panelists). Workshops are designed to provide an update of the subject matter, including controversies, via short presentations (total maximum of 60 minutes) and floor discussion (minimum of 30 minutes). Initial workshop proposals submitted should include:

  • proposed topic

  • proposed organizer and panelists with complete address, fax, telephone, and email information

  • outline of the workshop (maximum 1 page)

  • brief description of the importance of the topic and the intended audience (maximum 1 page)

  • up to 5 relevant references for the participants

 

Organizers are reminded that IASP does not provide any financial support to workshop organizers or speakers. Speakers are required to register themselves for the Congress and to pay for their registrations.

 

PLENARY PROPOSALS: Members who wish to submit suggestions for plenary topics and speakers should send them to the chair of the Scientific Program Committee. Such proposals should include the topic, the proposed speaker with complete address, fax, telephone and email information, and up to 3 relevant references from the speaker’s work.
